Indigenous Asset Management
At Foyston, Gordon & Payne, we are dedicated to providing tailored Indigenous Asset Management services that align with the unique needs and goals of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, offering customized investment solutions rooted in trust and responsibility.
Why Indigenous Communities Choose FGP
Our Commitment To ESG
Foyston, Gordon & Payne is a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI, formerly the UNPRI), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations are important in our investment decision making. Environmental factors are considered to be some of the most crucial ESG factors, and we review many of these factors in our company research.
Our Attentiveness
We listen closely to our clients, staying in tune with their needs. Our experience tells us that no two clients are alike. By being attuned to our clients’ needs, we can propose customized investment portfolios that are as varied as our clients.
Our Community Involvement
Our support for the Indigenous Peoples of Canada extends beyond investment management. We actively engage with Indigenous communities by sponsoring and attending events from the National Aboriginal Trust Officers Association (NATOA) and AFOA Canada.
We support youth across Canada. For example, in 2013, FGP began making donations, which have now totalled $100,000, to the Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) at the University of Winnipeg, making FGP one of the program’s largest organizational donors at the time. The University’s MDP focuses on Indigenous development, more particularly on how Indigenous knowledge and experience can help shape a sustainable path for development, rooted in culture and identity.
In addition, the Foyston, Gordon & Payne Foundation makes a minimum of one donation each year to a charity serving Indigenous children in Canada. This foundation has made grants to the following organizations that work primarily with Indigenous communities:
(Toronto)
Urban Society for Aboriginal Youth
(Calgary)
BYTE – Empowering Youth Society
(Whitehorse)
Arctic Children and Youth Foundation
(Iqaluit)
Underground Gym and Youth Centre
(Thunder Bay)
Core Neighbourhood Youth Co-Operative
(Saskatoon)
Red Fox Healthy Living Society
(Vancouver)
Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre
(Winnipeg)
